Production Welder/Fitter

Location: Ogden, Utah

Primary Function: 

Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair structural, vessel, equipment, and sheet metal parts, equipment, and products. Installs machinery and equipment in industrial establishment. Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing system. Work as member of crew to raise, place, and unite girders, columns, and other structural steel members to form completed structures or structure frameworks.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The job may require climbing ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, torso twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds. 10 hours is the standard scheduled day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery, and material handling equipment.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud moderate.
